Ear Correction

Otoplastika

Prominent or protruding ears are a common congenital aesthetic issue, which can be particularly troublesome during childhood when peers may subject those affected to teasing or bullying. This condition can also impact self-esteem and even lead to psychological problems in adulthood.

This condition can be unilateral or involve varying ear shapes and sizes and affects both men and women, as well as children.

The solution is a relatively quick, straightforward, and painless procedure, which is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia, typically lasting no longer than an hour. The results are permanent, and the resulting scar is hidden behind the ear.

The exact procedure may vary depending on the extent of the aesthetic issue, but the goal is always to achieve a natural appearance for the entire face without deformities or an unnatural curvature of the ear cartilage.

No special preparations are required before the procedure. Afterward, you may experience some discomfort, including mild tension. Following the operation, it’s necessary to wear a bandage for two weeks and observe heightened hygiene. For an additional three weeks, it’s advisable to cover the ears at night. Your ears might be slightly more sensitive, but these sensations will gradually fade. It’s recommended to avoid physical stress and exercise for at least three weeks.

Our plastic surgeons will find the optimal solution for you during a personal consultation.
