Botulinum Toxin

The application of botulinum toxin is performed on an outpatient basis. In aesthetic medicine, it is used to address dynamic wrinkles or to reduce excessive sweating, known as hyperhidrosis. The substance is effective for wrinkles that form during the movement of facial muscles.

Botulinum toxin is injected into the area of the neuromuscular junction, where it prevents the activation of the muscle by the nerve. The muscle does not contract, and wrinkles are not formed. This effect is temporary, as nerve regeneration will restore muscle function.

The entire procedure is done while sitting. The doctor administers the precise amount of the substance into the small muscles responsible for facial movement in the area to be treated, using a fine needle for multiple injections. During the procedure, you may feel sensations similar to a regular

injection. After the procedure, there may be small punctures and mild redness on the skin, which typically disappear within a few hours.

The desired effect occurs within 3-7 days and lasts for several months. After the first application, it can last 6-8 months, and with repeated applications, it can last up to 8-12 months.
